Meet Hinahina on the Beach: A New Waikiki Dining Experience

Good food brings people together, especially with Waikiki Beach as the backdrop. At Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort, we're welcoming guests and neighbors to Hinahina on the Beach, our new oceanfront restaurant overlooking historic Gray's Beach and Waikiki's famous surf breaks.

Bringing together the former Kai Market and The Edge of Waikiki Bar spaces, Hinahina offers coastally inspired cuisine, beach-influenced cocktails and room to gather. From breakfast with the family to dinner shared among friends, it's a place to connect over the flavors and stories of Hawaii.

A Name Rooted in Waikiki's History

Hinahina takes its name from the history of Gray's Beach and Gray's by the Sea, an early 1900s boarding house that welcomed travelers from around the world.

In the Hawaiian language, hinahina means "gray" and also describes the silvery tones of native coastal plants. The name connects our restaurant to the area's natural beauty and its rich waterman, surfing and beachboy heritage.

That sense of place carries through the experience, inviting you to enjoy a meal alongside the surf breaks that have shaped this stretch of Waikiki for generations.

Start Your Day With an Oceanfront Breakfast Buffet

A favorite Sheraton Waikiki tradition is back. After more than six years, our daily breakfast buffet returns with familiar favorites and island-inspired selections.

Start with Pineapple Upside-Down Pancakes, visit the omelet station or explore a rotating selection of eggs benedict, salads and fried rice. Fresh-cut fruit, breakfast meats and pastries round out the spread, giving everyone at the table something to enjoy.

Our Waikiki breakfast buffet is served daily from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m., making it easy to gather before a beach day or a morning exploring Oahu.

Settle In for Lunch by the Beach

When it's time for a break from the sun, join us for a relaxed oceanfront lunch. Build your own poke bowl with local-caught ahi or wild-caught Atlantic salmon, or choose the Hinahina Burger made with wagyu beef.

Other favorites include the Loco Moco and Gray's Beach fish tacos. Pair your meal with a beach-inspired cocktail and enjoy time together overlooking the ocean.

Lunch is served daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Share Something New at Dinner

Executive Chef Darren Demaya leads Hinahina's culinary program, bringing his Hawaii Island roots and more than 18 years of experience at our resort to the table.

The dinner menu features dishes created for sharing, including Giant Tiger Shrimp with Red Thai Lobster Curry Sauce. Save room for Auntie Karen's Strawberry Jello Cheesecake Pie, a nostalgic finish to an evening by the beach.

A la carte dinner service begins October 20, with the dinner buffet returning November 6.

Bring Everyone Together at Hinahina

With large tables, flexible seating and ocean views, Hinahina welcomes everything from family meals to group celebrations. Our private Shapers Room accommodates up to 40 guests, while private, semi-private and full-restaurant options welcome groups of 25 to 250.

Whether you're staying with us or joining us from nearby, there's a place for you at the table.
