Joshua Hargrove Returns to Lead Two of Waikiki's Most Historic Resorts
Marriott's Waikiki Collection welcomes a familiar leader back to Oahu as Joshua Hargrove has been appointed General Manager of Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa and Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Waikiki Beach. With more than 20 years of hospitality leadership experience, Hargrove returns to Waikiki at an exciting time for both iconic resorts.
Leading Two Landmark Waikiki Hotels
Hargrove joins the properties following his role as General Manager of The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kaanapali, where he led the resort through a period of continued growth and guest experience excellence. In his new role, he will oversee nearly 900 associates while guiding two of Waikiki's most recognized hotels into their next chapter.
His appointment comes as both resorts continue to invest in enhancing the guest experience.
A New Chapter at Moana Surfrider
As the Moana Surfrider celebrates 125 years of hospitality, the resort recently completed a landmark property-wide renewal. The transformation included all 791 guestrooms and suites across its three distinctive wings, a refreshed historic lobby, a new oceanfront event venue, and the restoration of the historic Surfrider Wing name.
These enhancements continue the legacy of Waikiki's "First Lady" while creating new opportunities for guests to experience the resort's timeless character.
Continued Enhancements at Sheraton Princess Kaiulani
At Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, recent investments have further strengthened one of Waikiki's most welcoming resorts. Following the renovation of all 664 guestrooms and suites in the Ainahau Tower, the hotel is now enhancing its award-winning Splash Bar, continuing its commitment to creating memorable guest experiences in the heart of Waikiki.
A Proven Leader with Deep Hawaii Roots
Hargrove is no stranger to Hawaii's hospitality community. His leadership experience includes previous roles at Prince Waikiki, The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas, the former Modern Honolulu, and The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort. During the Maui wildfires in 2023, he was widely recognized for his compassionate leadership and dedication to supporting associates, guests, and the local community.
His return to Marriott's Waikiki Collection reflects a continued commitment to thoughtful leadership, exceptional guest experiences, and caring for the people and places that make Hawaii unique.
Looking Ahead
With Joshua Hargrove at the helm, both Moana Surfrider and Sheraton Princess Kaiulani are well positioned to build on their rich histories while continuing to deliver exceptional experiences for guests visiting Waikiki from around the world.
